In honor of the holiday–troublesome though some aspects of it may be–here’s a quick link to the Library of Congress’ “Thanksgiving in American Memory” resource. I’ve only clicked briefly through it myself, but it seems to be full of interesting information about the holiday.
I hope everyone has a safe and relaxing holiday. Fight the Black Friday nonsense–you’re better than that. And eat some stuffing and something pumpkiny for me.
I think we’ll be having Chinese 🙂
No way! Seriously? I’m nothing if not progressive, and there’s definitely a lot of baggage here, but TURKEY AND STUFFING OH MY GOD*DROOL*
Have a good one! One of my friends has gone home to the US for her first Thanks-giving in about 10years – think she will be making up for lost time!
Glad to hear it! I have no appreciate of the holiday per se, and not a drop of “patriotism” in me, but the food is just brilliant, and I tend to think with my stomach. So I hope she enjoys it!
